One of our bank holiday weekend highlights was a day in Salcombe, Devon with lunch at The Crab Shed π¦ Situated on the edge of town overlooking the harbour the restaurant has indoor and outdoor seating and of course specialises in Cornish crab and seafood π¦
We sat inside but the restaurant was so light and airy and the lighting was ππΌ πΈπ We ordered a crab feastβ¦ Crab sandwich, crab linguine and crab friesβ¦ but the real star of the show was my last minute addition of potted crab it was incredible – if you go itβs a must order! The service was great and it had an open kitchen so you could see the chefs at work – I also enjoyed a Salcombe Gin which is distilled just up the road – it was really smooth and refreshing and you can tour the distillery if you like πΈ
Salcombe itself is such a pretty little coastal town, from pastel painted houses to beautiful views of the water and winding streets filled with unique boutiques we easily spent the day there – We grabbed an ice cream from Salcombe Dairy after lunch which was lovely and again made locally π¨ If we had more time we could have taken the ferry from the harbour to the beach on the other side of the waterway – there are great walking routes on the other side β¦ one for next time! π€ Salcombe is well worth a visit if you are planning a trip to Devon – and donβt forget to make a reservation at The Crab Shed π¦
