You may have noticed my husband Mark features in lots of my posts and pictures so I thought it made sense to do a whole ‘get to know the couple’ section…
We are Charli and Mark, a 30 something couple living just outside of London in Kent, UK with our dog, Freddie.
We are lucky that our jobs allow us to have above average annual leave allowance, and we try to make the most of this by travelling as much as we can.
In 2013 we both set off to work in Orlando, Florida, USA for The Walt Disney Company as part of an international work programme and became best friends as soon as we arrived. A few months later we became a couple and spent the rest of the year together. Mark is originally from Newcastle (Very North East of England) and I am from Kent (Very South East of England) so you could say Disney magic played a part when our paths crossed over 4000 miles away…
We worked together in Florida for 15 months and this was followed by our first big trip – A 2 month fly-drive from Florida to Hawaii with a Caribbean cruise mixed in there somewhere.
Lots has happened since then! In 2016 we went back to Orlando on holiday and Mark proposed at the restaurant where we worked. In 2017 we bought our first home, in 2019 we got married back at Walt Disney World in Florida and in 2021 Freddie joined the family 🐶
Since we met we have visited 9 countries and 14 US states together – Before we became a couple we have been even further afield!
